This contemporary female vocal trio from Australia is BIG on originality.  The Bluehouse performed on the WoodSongs Old TIme Radio Hour in August, 2002. The trio's harmonies moved beyond tangible structures, their vocal enthusiasm literally soared through the rafters.  Their 2004 release entitled These Days finds the trio further exploring acoustic roots with a more folk-flavored theme than their previous CD.  These Days nicely showcases their amazing vocal harmonies along with exceptional writing within each of the original composition.  These Days also features two cover songs... including I Heard It Through The Grapevine, and Only You.  On each of the cover songs Bluehouse adds their own stamp of originality, making These Days a well defined listening venue worthy of your attention.       (c) 2006 Mark's Online Music Source

Pack up your worries and join Neil and friends for a fun stroll down Memory Lane.  After you've slid this disc into your CD player, grab that old yearbook, dust off that old trunk of school memorabilia, and enjoy a journey back in time.
"Neil Brewer and Friends" features ingenious compositions that reflect the innocence of youth and evoke a sense of warm nostalgia.  Brewer's amusing originals merge engaging melodies with lyrical wit and humor.  Songs on the CD also compliment Brewer's new book, The 8 O'clock Bell.  "Back in School" covers an array of musical styles and youth oriented topics.  Themes include sibling rivalry, football, cleaning chalkboard erasers, waiting on the bus, and much more.

Author, educator, composer, musician, Neil Brewer teaches graduate and undergraduate education courses at Indiana University Southeast.  Brewer's one man traveling production of The 8 O'clock Bell is a neat performance that combines  music, spoken word, and song.  The 8 O'clock Bell has been performed in over 200 schools around the country - now, you can enjoy these songs at home.

Of Labor and Love serves as a pleasant introduction or reminder of the talents of Aodh Og O Tuama and Christy Martin.  In an age when money-driven productions often join force with high-tech marketing -- Four Shillings Short continues to market their goods the old-fashioned way -- up close and personal.
Four Shillings Short is best experienced in person to fully appreciate the delicate nuance behind their spirited melodies and soothing ballads.  Aodh Og O Tuama and Christy Martin play an eclectic assortment of instruments -- producing Celtic/American/Eastern flavors behind well-paired vocal harmonies.  One of the highlights during a 4SS performance is Martin's sitar playing and O Tuama's inventive dumbek percussion.

A gathering of friends accompanied singer-songwriter Lyn Hacker in the recording studio - weaving her original compositions into a warm blanket that wraps the listener in a geniune appreciation of country roots through songs written from the heart.  Elements of reflection are penned into lyrical thoughts as each song captures the specific mood Hacker wants to share with her audience.  Her down to earth writing and warm vocals form an honest quality that is lacking in much of today's mainstream music.  There's a wealth of wisdom written into each of Hacker's gentle stories.  You'll come across several gems as you delve into this impressive 12 song disc - neatly tucked inside an inspired package.  "Springtime In Kentucky" won the American Songwriter Magazine award.  Musicians that joined Lyn Hacker in the studio include regional favorites such as Jesse Pena, Nick Stump, Tim Lake, Brad Becker, Danny Cecil, and others.  "Girl Who Loves Horses" - a pause that refreshes through genuine songs written from the heart  - (c) 2010 Mark's Online Music Source

   A Quite Revolution: 30 Years of... [4-disc boxed set]  (2005)  * * * * *

30 Years of Windham Hill - a quite revolution
This amazing four-CD boxed set celebrating the anniversary of Will Ackerman’s independent label is divided equally into “Elements,” “Peace,” “Artistry” and “Excursions.”

Listen to the whole set randomly or upload to your iPod and set it to shuffle. This is an album that should be savored patiently, bit by bit, without missing a single moment.
